Nearly Half of Germans Feel Less Safe in Their Country Compared to Five Years Ago

A recent survey by the INSA Institute showed that around half of Germans do not feel as safe in their country now compared to five years ago.

A survey showed that 45% of participants feel less secure, while only 15% feel more secure compared to five years ago. 38% of Germans have not seen any changes in security over the last five years, while 2% chose not to respond.

INSA reported that as many as 52% of German citizens feel unsafe at train stations.

The survey took place on August 15-16, with participation from 1,003 individuals. The margin of error is not stated.

According to media sources, over 80% of Germans would back a prohibition on carrying knives in public areas following a rise in knife-related incidents.
